How B2B Fees tests vendors
Reading a pricing page tells you what a vendor says. A first-hand check tells you what happens.
Where this stands today. We are starting with field service software and AI receptionists. No comparison is published yet, so there are no test results on this site yet. This page is the method every comparison will follow, and we will say plainly where a vendor has not been tested.
What a first-hand check is
For each vendor we compare, we aim for at least one check we did ourselves, depending on what the product is:
- A trial account for software, so we can see which features sit on which plan and what the signup and checkout screens actually charge.
- A quote request where the price is not published, so we know the real number rather than a guess.
- A timed test call to each AI receptionist, so we can report how it answers and how long it takes.
How we label it
Every check is dated and says how we got the information: a screenshot from a trial account, a quote reply, or a call log. It appears on the comparison it supports, so you can see which statements rest on our own check and which rest on the vendor's page.
When we check again
- When a vendor changes its plans or pricing, we re-check that vendor.
- Otherwise a first-hand check is considered current for 12 months, then it is re-done.
- AI receptionists are re-tested twice a year, and the results are published with their dates.
What we cannot test
We cannot test everything: some products need a contract, a hardware order or a business account we do not have. When that is the case, the page says the vendor was not tested and shows only what the vendor publishes.
