Home / Fulfillment (3PL)

Which 3PL fits my store, and what will it cost?

500 orders a month · US · light parcels

from US$44,280 to US$86,721 a year across the 4 providers that publish enough to price, postage included or added at USPS list. 10 more fit your answers but are quote-only, not confirmed by the vendor yet.

Prices read on each provider's own page on Nov 6, 2026, or by our research pass on Nov 2, 2026 where our fetch was blocked. Every link is plain, with no affiliate code: a Visit button goes through our /go redirect, any other link goes straight to the provider's site. How we test · How we are paid: no provider has paid for placement.

Four questions about your store

1. How many orders do you ship a month?
2. Where do your customers live?
3. Do you sell on TikTok Shop?
4. What do you ship?

We cut one question, postage inside or on top: it never changes which providers fit, so each card says how it bills. One standard for every provider: a feature counts as confirmed only when its own pages name it (for TikTok Shop, an integrations list or a dedicated TikTok page). Otherwise it is "not confirmed", not "no".

Simpl Fulfillment

Lowest published figure (a floor)

from US$44,280a year, postage included, a floor

  • US$42,000 at US$7 an order, postage included
  • US$2,280 storage only: Simpl prints no returns fee, so returns are not counted
  • Postage is inside the price
Details

Flat rate from US$7 an order, postage included. Small sellers who want one flat price per order with postage inside it.

The weight table is not published, so US$7 is the lowest an order can cost. Returns are billed per return and the amount is not stated. Carrier surcharges may be added. Receiving that breaks its rules is US$45 per person-hour.

US$750 a month minimum. 3-month terms that renew automatically; written notice at least 60 days before the end of the term. Price changes with 14 days' written notice (its terms of service).

This is the lowest it can be: the weight table is not published, so a heavier parcel costs more.

Not for you if you ship under about 108 orders a month at its US$7 starting rate (it bills at least US$750 a month), want to leave on short notice (3-month terms that renew, 60 days' written notice), or ship heavy parcels: its price is by weight and only the starting US$7 is published.

Fulfyld

from US$53,130a year, postage included, a floor

  • US$47,340 at its rate for your volume, postage included
  • US$5,790 storage, receiving and returns
  • Postage is inside the price
Details

From US$7.89 an order at 251 - 500 orders a month, postage included. Sellers who want a postage-included starting price on the page, at any volume up to 10,000 orders a month and more.

Items beyond 5 picks cost US$0.50 each. Its page says your exact rate also depends on what you sell. It also prints standard-shipping rates for 2 to 4 lb, 5 to 7 lb, 10 to 12 lb and 20 to 25 lb parcels, and higher expedited and international rates. Its own sample invoice (3,322 shipments, Apr 5 to 19, 2026) shows a US$10.93 median all-in cost per shipment against the US$7.51+ headline.

No monthly minimum or setup fee stated; the pricing page says no long-term lock-in; its terms allow either side to end it on 60 days' written notice, and let it change prices on 5 days' written notice.

This is a "from" price: its page says your exact rate also depends on what you sell.

Not for you if you want a firm price: its rates are "from" prices and its page says your exact rate depends on what you sell. Its terms let either side end the agreement on 60 days' written notice, though its pricing page says no long-term lock-in.

Amplifier

US$74,760a year, postage added

  • US$21,600 account, shipment and item fees
  • US$4,980 storage, receiving and returns
  • US$48,180 postage added on top, at USPS list price
Details

Standard plan: US$2.05 a shipment and US$0.90 an item. Small and growing sellers who want a published rate card and no commitment.

Freight and packaging are charged separately and have no price on its pages. Paid support plans are not priced. Its returns fee reads "US$2.00 + US$0.50" without saying what the two parts are: we count US$2.50 for a one-unit return, and your cost is lower if the first item is free or US$2.00 is the whole fee.

No commitment, no shipment minimum; card or ACH (its pricing page).

Not for you if you want postage and boxes in one price: Amplifier says freight and packaging are charged separately, and neither is in this number beyond our postage input. Its page also lists per-item fees that we charge on every unit; if the first item is free, your cost is lower.

How these numbers are built

  1. The reference seller

    Same seller for every provider

    • 1.5 units an order, parcels of 8 to 12 oz, 8% of orders returned
    • 20% returned for the apparel answer (our assumption)
    • Stock grows with orders: 10 bins for 100 orders, 30 bins and a pallet for 500
    Details

Stock and inbound deliveries grow with orders. The 100, 500 and 2,000 profiles are the three reference sellers from our research pass; 50, 250 and 1,000 are scaled between them by us. They are assumptions, not provider figures.

Storage uses each provider's mid-size bin: Amplifier standard, Fulfyld regular (18 x 10 x 11 inches), Simpl large. ShipCalm charges by cubic foot (about 1.15 per bin). Amplifier and Simpl do not state their bin sizes on their pages.

The "2,000 or more" answer is priced at exactly 2,000 orders a month.

  2. Postage

Added at US$8.03 an order where it is billed on top

    • Amplifier and ShipCalm bill postage separately
    • Simpl and Fulfyld put postage inside their price
    • USPS commercial list price, 12 oz or less: zone 2 US$7.34, zone 4 US$7.86, zone 8 US$8.95
    Details

The 30/40/30 mix of those three zones is our assumption; it gives US$8.03. The prices are from USPS Notice 123 (effective Oct 4, 2026, read Nov 6, 2026). Simpl and Fulfyld sell postage inside prices at or below it, so a provider with a carrier deal probably pays less.

  3. Floors and ranges

Two numbers are floors and one is a range

    • Simpl: "from US$7" by weight; the weight table is not published
    • Fulfyld: "from US$7.98" down to "from US$7.51" as volume grows, and its page says your rate depends on what you sell
    • ShipCalm: two readings of its quarterly minimum, because its sheet does not say whether postage counts
    Details

A floor is the lowest it can be, and your real number can be higher. We rank by the lowest figure we can support.

  4. Left out

What none of these numbers include

    • Packaging, inserts, onboarding, projects and taxes (unpublished)
    • Canadian orders: no priced provider prints a Canadian dollar rate
    • Heavy goods: no total, because it needs your parcel weight
    Details

ShipCalm's rate sheet says every customer must keep a security deposit (no amount on the sheet). Its help pages (read by our research pass on Nov 2) also mention a 3% credit-card fee. Neither is in the sums.

A heavy-goods total needs your parcel weight and stock, which we would have to invent. Fulfyld's card shows its published rates up to 20 to 25 lb, without a total.

Minimums and contracts

A minimum is a floor you pay even if you ship little. At 100 orders a month the floor alone is US$20.00 an order at ShipCalm (US$6,000 a quarter); US$7.50 an order at Simpl Fulfillment (US$750 a month); US$4.59 an order at Fulfillrite (US$399 + US$59.99 a month); US$1.00 an order at Amplifier (US$100 a month account fee). Simpl's US$750 minimum stops binding by 108 orders a month at the latest, at its US$7 starting rate. ShipCalm's minimum still applies at 100 orders a month and stops between 100 and 250 if postage counts toward it; if it does not, it still applies at 250 and stops between 250 and 500.

US$86,721 a year, postage added at USPS list price

  • Platform US$89 a week (Essentials, own-store orders), US$2.65 an order, US$0.95 an item
  • SKU fee US$1.45 per SKU a week; storage US$0.19 per cubic foot a week
  • Receiving US$39.50 per delivery plus US$2.95 a carton; returns US$4.95 an item plus the US$49-a-week returns add-on
Details and who it is not for

Sellers past a few hundred orders a month, including wholesale, who accept a weekly platform fee.

Packaging is charged per piece. Carrier-specific postage tables are available on request. Its rate sheet says every customer must keep a security deposit (no amount on the sheet) and lists a US$1,000 reactivation fee if an account is cancelled or paused. It promises at least 30 days' notice by email when it changes its own fees, and says changes in its partners' costs (packaging, parcel, freight) may take effect without notice. Its help pages (read by our research pass on Nov 2) also mention a 3% credit-card fee.

Quarterly minimum US$6,000, checked against what it invoices in the quarter; the sheet does not say whether postage counts, so the tool shows both readings. The sheet's example: US$5,200 invoiced in a quarter means a US$800 minimum fee. Its pricing page said the US$6,000 is "including all costs" and its FAQ page said US$3,000 a quarter when our research pass read them on Nov 2; we could not re-read either.

Not for you if you ship under a few hundred orders a month: its rate sheet sets a US$6,000-a-quarter minimum on what it invoices, which is US$24,000 a year, or US$20 an order at 100 orders a month. Returns also need a US$49-a-week add-on.

Held out of the ranking: its delivery fee is published, but we have not read its storage, inbound and returns tables, and its peak rates (Oct 15, 2026 to Jan 14, 2027) apply today and were not captured. A delivery-only number would look cheaper than the whole packages beside it.

Quick answers

What does a 3PL cost a small online store a year?

For a store with 500 orders a month, all in the US, shipping light parcels with 8% sent back, the 4 providers we can price land between US$44,280 (a floor) and US$86,721 a year. The rest are quote-only or held out.

Why are so many providers quote-only?

Only 4 of the 18 providers we looked at publish enough to price a year. 13 publish no whole price we can total for your answers, and 1 is held out. We do not guess a price for a provider that does not print one, so each of those shows as quote-only with no number.

What is a 3PL minimum, and when does it stop mattering?

A minimum is the least you pay when you ship little. For a store shipping 100 orders a month, the floor alone works out to US$20.00 an order at ShipCalm, US$7.50 an order at Simpl Fulfillment, US$4.59 an order at Fulfillrite, US$1.00 an order at Amplifier. The minimums section above shows where each one stops binding.

Which 3PLs say they track lots for cosmetics or supplements?

ShipMonk, Shipfusion, ShipNetwork, and ShipTop say so on their own pages. The four providers we can price do not state lot tracking on the pages we read, so the tool leaves them out when you pick lot tracking. Ask any provider in writing before you sign.

Why is Amazon MCF not ranked?

Amazon publishes a delivery fee, but not in a form we can set beside a whole package. We have not read its storage and returns tables, and today falls inside its peak-season rates, which we did not capture. Showing the delivery fee alone would make it look cheaper than it is.

Does anyone pay to be on this page?

No provider has paid for placement. The tool has no input for who pays us, every provider gets the same card, and no link carries an affiliate code.

What changed

  • First build and two reviews: 4 providers priced from their own pages, 13 quote-only, 1 held out; ShipCalm shown as two readings of its minimum; Fulfyld priced at every volume band.
