Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan?
If your average invoice is under US$333, Housecall Pro's 2.99% card fee costs less than Jobber's 2.9% plus 30 cents. Over US$333, Jobber costs less. For 3 people the whole-year winner depends on which Housecall Pro price you are shown (table below). ServiceTitan publishes no price: asked 2026-11-03, no reply yet.

The US$333 rule
Online card payments: Housecall Pro charges 2.99% of the invoice. Jobber charges 2.9% plus 30 cents. The 30 cents is what makes the difference: on a small invoice it is a big share, on a large one it is not. The two cost the same at US$333.33. Below that Housecall Pro is cheaper per invoice; above it Jobber is.
| Invoice | Housecall Pro 2.99% | Jobber 2.9% + 30ยข | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| US$100 | $2.99 | $3.20 | Housecall Pro |
| US$200 | $5.98 | $6.10 | Housecall Pro |
| US$333 | $9.96 | $9.96 | About the same |
| US$500 | $14.95 | $14.80 | Jobber |
| US$1,000 | $29.90 | $29.30 | Jobber |
| US$2,500 | $74.75 | $72.80 | Jobber |
Fee on one invoice paid by card entered online. Housecall Pro's help article on processing rates is dated 2026-07-20; Jobber's pricing page was read 2026-11-01. Estimates.
The 3.49% traps at Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro's 2.99% is for a card the customer types in online. Its help article lists 3.49% for a card keyed in by you, a card kept on file, American Express and commercial cards, and 2.59% for a card tapped or swiped in person. Jobber's in-person Tap to Pay is 2.7% plus 30 cents. In person, Housecall Pro's 2.59% is cheaper than Jobber's at any invoice size. If your customers pay mostly in person, Housecall Pro wins on cards; if you key payments in or store cards, check which rate applies before you compare.
The crew size can flip it
The subscription matters too. For a crew that needs QuickBooks and GPS, priced month to month at the plans each vendor shows on its public pricing page, with 50 invoices of US$400 a month for 3 people and 125 for 8 people:
| Crew | Housecall Pro | Jobber | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 people, 50 invoices a month | US$9,444 (Essentials (up to 5 users)) | US$9,528 (Connect (up to 5 users)) | Housecall Pro by US$84 a year |
| 3 people, 50 invoices a month, Housecall Pro's in-app price (our trial) | US$10,764 (Essentials at US$299 a month) | US$9,528 (Connect (up to 5 users)) | Jobber by US$1,236 a year |
| 8 people, 125 invoices a month | US$21,888 (Max (up to 8 users)) | US$21,438 (Connect (up to 10 users)) | Jobber by US$450 a year |
Whole package = a year of subscription plus a year of online card fees. Estimates built from each vendor's published prices. Housecall Pro price view: the public pricing page, monthly billing, checked 2026-11-02. The same plan showed higher list prices inside a trial account (Essentials US$299 and Max US$649 a month for a 2 to 5 person team), so check the price your own account shows. Billed annually, Housecall Pro's public prices are lower (Essentials US$149, Max US$299).
Which Housecall Pro price? The first row uses Housecall Pro's public monthly price. The third row uses the higher list price our own trial account showed for a plumbing company with 2 to 5 employees; Jobber's price was the same in the app and on its public page. Housecall Pro's pages do not say why its in-app price is higher, so ask it for the price for your own team in writing before you decide.
Why it flips: at 3 people, Housecall Pro's subscription costs US$120 a year less than Jobber's, and Jobber's card fees come out US$36 a year lower at a US$400 invoice, so Housecall Pro keeps the US$84 gap. At 8 people Housecall Pro moves up to its Max plan: its subscription costs US$360 a year more than Jobber's, and its card fees US$90 more, which adds up to the US$450 gap in Jobber's favour.
What you have to buy to get the features
- Housecall Pro: QuickBooks and GPS are on Essentials. Membership plans (recurring service agreements) are on Essentials and above, not only on Max. ACH, Instapay and surcharging are on Essentials and above (the Basic column was not captured). Pipeline is on Max and Max+ only. Route optimisation is also listed on Max and Max+ in Housecall Pro's own in-app plan list, although some comparison pages say Housecall Pro has none.
- Jobber: QuickBooks sync, GPS and routing start at Connect. The app recommends the next plans up (Grow, Plus) first, which cost more.
- ServiceTitan: plans are Starter, Essentials and The Works. None shows a price. Which features sit on which plan is on its pricing page; what each plan costs per technician is something you have to ask.
Payout, reserve and cancelling
Housecall Pro's terms (modified 2026-07-01) say it may delay a payout and ask for a reserve, may change processing fees at any time, that the subscription is not prorated or refunded, and that you cancel by email. Jobber can change its prices on 14 days' notice (its terms were updated 2026-09-22). Neither is unusual, but a delayed payout hits a small crew's cash harder than a small fee gap does. We read Housecall Pro's terms on 2026-11-02; we have not saved a dated copy of that page.
ServiceTitan: what we can and cannot say
ServiceTitan's pricing page shows three plans and a "request pricing" button on each, with no number. Our earlier notes say it is priced per technician; that is not stated in the page text, so treat it as a question to ask. Because there is no published price and no published card rate, we cannot put it in the yearly numbers above. Before you take a demo, ask:
- What is the price per technician, per month, on each plan?
- Is there a minimum number of technicians?
- Is there a one-time implementation or onboarding fee, and how much?
- How long is the contract, and what does it cost to leave early?
- What is the card processing rate for your payment mix, and is there a monthly payments fee?
We asked ServiceTitan to confirm what we say here on 2026-11-03 and have no reply yet. We do not have a written ServiceTitan quote, so nothing about its price on this page is confirmed.
Which one for which crew
- Small invoices, mostly paid in person, 2 to 5 people: on Housecall Pro's public price Housecall Pro came out ahead: its in-person rate is lower and its Essentials plan costs less than Jobber's Connect plan for 2 to 5 people. On the higher in-app price our trial showed, Jobber came out ahead, so get Housecall Pro's price in writing first. For one person Jobber's Connect plan costs less than Housecall Pro's Essentials, so check both.
- Invoices over US$333 paid online, or a bigger crew: in our 8-person numbers Jobber came out ahead on both the card fee and the subscription.
- You are weighing ServiceTitan: ask it for the five numbers above before you compare anything, then put them next to these.
Not for you if: you want one firm price (Housecall Pro's changes by team size and where you read it; ServiceTitan's is hidden); you mostly get paid by ACH or cheque (the card-fee gap barely matters, so the subscription decides); or you are in Canada, where both are billed in US dollars and Housecall Pro's Canadian card rate is not published (see the Canada answers).
Quick answers
Is Jobber or Housecall Pro cheaper for a 3-person crew?
It depends on which Housecall Pro price you are shown. On Housecall Pro's public monthly prices, Housecall Pro is cheaper by US$84 a year (US$9,444 against US$9,528). On the higher in-app price our trial account showed for a 2 to 5 person team (Essentials US$299 a month), Jobber is cheaper by US$1,236 (US$10,764 against US$9,528). Both assume 50 invoices of US$400 a month paid by card online.
What is the US$333 rule?
Housecall Pro charges 2.99% on an online card payment and Jobber charges 2.9% plus 30 cents. Under an average invoice of US$333, Housecall Pro's card fee is lower; over it, Jobber's is. This compares card fees only, before subscriptions.
Does ServiceTitan publish its prices?
No. Its pricing page shows three plans and a "request pricing" button on each, with no number and no card rate, so we cannot put it in the yearly numbers. We asked ServiceTitan to confirm on 2026-11-03 and have no reply yet.
What we checked ourselves
On 2026-11-02 we opened a trial account at Jobber and at Housecall Pro (no card, nothing bought; how we test). In the Jobber trial the Connect plan costs US$139, US$199 and US$299 a month for one, 2 to 5 and 6 to 10 people, matching its public page. In the Housecall Pro trial, for a plumber with 2 to 5 employees, the in-app prices were higher than the public page and Membership plans showed on Essentials and above.
What we did not capture, so these rest on each vendor's public pages and help articles:
- Housecall Pro's Payments settings with its 2.99%, 3.49% and 2.59% rates.
- Jobber's Payments settings with 2.9% + 30 cents and Tap to Pay. The app shows no rates until you start a merchant application, which we stopped short of.
- Any ServiceTitan quote or demo reply.
