Jobber alternatives: what leaving Jobber saves a crew each year
B2B Fees priced Jobber and five alternatives on 2026-11-03 for a 3-person crew sending 50 invoices of US$400 a month, all paid by card online. Jobber Connect: US$9,528 a year, card fees included. Of the six apps, four cost less: ServiceM8 Starter US$7,968 (up to US$1,560 less, for up to 50 jobs a month), Fergus US$8,376, Tradify US$9,312 and Housecall Pro US$9,444 (public price). Price your own crew in the tool below.
Your crew size, invoice size and card mix move these numbers. Card fees are 75% of Jobber's bill, and none of the seven pages we read for this search on 2026-11-03 priced them.
B2B Fees is independent: we are not Jobber and not an official Jobber partner. We are in Jobber's referral program, so a link to Jobber may pay us in future; today every link here is a plain link and payment never changes the order or the numbers. How we are paid. US dollars, before sales tax.

Estimates. Jobber is priced on Connect, the plan with QuickBooks sync and GPS. Whole package = a year of subscription plus a year of online card fees at each app's published rate. Every invoice is US$400, paid by card entered online, monthly billing, no tips, disputes or instant payouts, route work switched on so every priced app is compared the same way. Plan prices read 2026-10-20 to 2026-11-03, Jobber's on 2026-11-03; each one is dated on the Jobber cost page and in the tool. Housecall Pro is its public monthly price: its in-app price for a 2 to 5 person team was higher (three price views).
The tool prices six apps whose plan prices and online card rate we could read. Others you will meet in search results (Kickserv, QuoteIQ, FieldVibe) are not priced here, and neither is ServiceM8's Free plan (one user, 30 jobs a month), which we have not checked against the QuickBooks and GPS needs used here, so "cheapest" on this page means cheapest of these six.
ServiceM8 is priced by jobs, not people, and the saving has a cap. Starter holds 50 jobs a month and the 3-person crew above sends exactly 50, so one or two more a month moves it to Growing at US$79 a month, which is US$600 a year more and cuts the saving to US$960. Its card rate is higher than Jobber's, which is why its saving is software, not card fees.
Not priced here: ServiceTitan publishes no price. Workiz's public page is quote only, and a trial account shows plan prices but no card rate, so there is no whole-package number. Service Fusion lists US$245 a month with unlimited users, but GPS tracking is an add-on with no published price. A yearly number for any of the three would be a guess.
Which one, by situation (on these numbers)
- Solo, around 20 invoices a month: Fergus US$3,276 or ServiceM8 Starter US$3,396 a year, against Jobber's US$4,524. Fergus lists GPS on its public page but showed it as a Professional feature in our trial account, so check it before you count on it.
- 3 people, up to 50 jobs a month: ServiceM8 Starter at US$7,968. Over 50 jobs a month it is US$8,568 on Growing, still below Jobber's US$9,528.
- 8 people, around 125 jobs a month: ServiceM8 Growing at US$19,998, then Fergus at US$21,126, then Jobber at US$21,438.
- You need QuickBooks sync and GPS on one plan: Jobber Connect, Housecall Pro Essentials, GorillaDesk Pro and ServiceM8 all list both; Tradify does not list GPS.
- You want to stay with Jobber: the saving elsewhere is mostly the plan price, so ask Jobber about the 1-year commitment or annual billing first (Connect for 2 to 5 people is US$149 a month billed annually against US$199 monthly). Billed annually the 3-person crew pays US$8,928 a year, still above ServiceM8 and Fergus.
Reason 1: Jobber costs more once I need QuickBooks and GPS
Jobber's Core plan is for one user only and has no QuickBooks sync or GPS. Both start at Connect, so a crew of two or more starts at US$199 a month billed monthly (up to 5 users), not Core's US$49. What the apps below ask for the same two features:
| App | QuickBooks sync and GPS | Read |
|---|---|---|
| Jobber | Connect and above | 2026-10-22 |
| Housecall Pro | Essentials and above | 2026-10-20 |
| GorillaDesk | Pro and above | 2026-10-20 |
| ServiceM8 | Listed on every plan on its public page | 2026-10-20 |
| Fergus | Listed on both plans on its US page. In our trial account GPS tracking showed as a Professional feature, which conflicts with that page | 2026-10-20; trial 2026-11-02 |
| Tradify | QuickBooks and Xero sync on every plan. GPS tracking is not listed on any plan | 2026-10-20; trial 2026-11-02 |
From each app's own pricing page and, where marked, our trial account.
Not for you if you need GPS and are weighing Tradify (its pages do not list it), or you want one firm price from Fergus (its page says only "from US$31").
Reason 2: I am stuck on a term
One Jobber plan has three prices depending on how you pay. Connect for 2 to 5 people, read 2026-11-03:
| Billing | A month | A year | What it locks in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | US$199 | US$2,388 | Cancel any time; it ends at the period end |
| 1-year commitment, billed monthly | US$169 | US$2,028 | Billed monthly to the end of the 12-month term |
| Annual, prepaid | US$149 | US$1,788 | Prepaid for 12 months; see the cancellation terms below |
Jobber: Monthly: cancel any time, ends at period end. 1-year commitment: billed monthly to end of 12-month term. Annual prepaid: non-refundable. Annual: cancel at least 30 days before renewal. (read 2026-10-22). Auto-renews. Ask Jobber what a mid-term cancellation costs before you sign.
What the alternatives say about contracts and cancelling:
- Fergus: monthly billing, no fee to cancel; pay to end of the month you cancel; no refunds on termination except where fergus terminates or is in breach.
- ServiceM8: monthly plans; terms require notice at least 30 days before the end of the payment period; fees pro-rata to the termination day.
- Tradify: no minimum term; no refund of monthly or yearly charges on cancellation.
- GorillaDesk: none (monthly) or annual prepaid; no refunds for partial months or unused months.
- Housecall Pro: no minimum term listed; the annual-billing refund policy is not stated on its pricing page.
Each from the app's terms or pricing page, read 2026-10-20 to 2026-10-22.
Reason 3: card fees are most of my bill
Card fees are 75% of a 3-person Jobber bill (US$7,140 of US$9,528) and 96% of a ServiceM8 bill. Online card rates are close across these apps, so the rate matters less than the volume:
| App | Online card rate | Card fees a year, 3 people, 50 invoices of US$400 |
|---|---|---|
| Jobber | 2.9% + 30 cents | US$7,140 |
| ServiceM8 | 3.1% + 30 cents | US$7,620 |
| Fergus | 2.95% + 30 cents | US$7,260 |
| Tradify | 3.1% + 30 cents | US$7,620 |
| Housecall Pro | 2.99%, no fixed fee listed | US$7,176 |
| GorillaDesk | 2.9% + 30 cents | US$7,140 |
Estimates from each app's published online rate: Jobber's 2.9% + 30 cents is the credit card processing row of the comparison table on its pricing page (every plan, read 2026-11-03); Housecall Pro's 2.99% is the rate for a card the customer enters online on an invoice in its help article (its in-person rate is 2.59%, which is the "as low as 2.59%" on its pricing page); Fergus's 2.95% + 30 cents is on its US pricing page. GorillaDesk takes card payments through your own Stripe or Square account, so its rate is that processor's. ServiceM8's help centre lists 3.05% + 30 cents against the 3.10% shown (ServiceM8 told us on 2026-11-03 it is confirming which applies).
Every 0.2 point of rate is US$480 a year on US$20,000 a month in cards. The bigger levers are paying by bank transfer where your customers will (Jobber lists ACH at 1%, US only) and how fast you need your money: Jobber charges 1% extra for instant payout and Housecall Pro lists a first payout of up to 7 business days. What card processing costs, and where interchange-plus breaks even.
Reason 4: features sit behind Grow or Plus
Jobber's three paid plans for 2 to 5 people, billed monthly and read 2026-11-03: Connect US$199, Grow US$299 and Plus US$499. Grow adds job costing, two-way texting and automations; Plus adds Pipeline, Marketing Suite and a Receptionist. Moving from Connect to Grow is US$1,200 a year; to Plus, US$3,600. Extra users are US$29 a month each; add-ons are Receptionist US$29, Marketing Suite US$99 and Pipeline US$49 a month (pricing page, read 2026-11-03). Every plan and price, by team size.
Housecall Pro also gates features by plan: membership plans (recurring agreements) start at Essentials and the pipeline and route optimisation at Max. We did not match Jobber's Grow features against any alternative one by one, so we do not claim an app is a like-for-like replacement. Which plan holds maintenance agreements, app by app.
Reason 5: I do not want to pay by team size
- Jobber: by team-size band, not per person: one user, up to 5, 10 or 15; above 15 Jobber says to contact it for pricing.
- ServiceM8: by jobs a month (50 on Starter), with every user included on the paid plans; the Free plan is one user.
- Fergus: from US$31 a month on Essentials (its pricing page says "from $31 per month"; its terms describe a per-user basis).
- Tradify: per user, US$47 a month on Lite in our US reading.
- GorillaDesk: per route (Pro is US$99 for the first schedule and US$50 for each extra), built for lawn, pest and pool routes.
- Housecall Pro: by plan with a user cap: Essentials up to 5 users and Max up to 8 on its public page.
At 8 people the table above puts ServiceM8 Growing at US$19,998 and Jobber at US$21,438; per-user apps such as Tradify cost more than Jobber at that size (US$23,562).
Reason 6: I am in Canada
Jobber bills in US dollars everywhere, including Canada, with no Canadian-dollar price; its ACH bank transfers are US only and Tap to Pay does not support Interac. In a Canadian trial account Tradify showed Lite at CA$62, Pro CA$68 and Plus CA$80 per user a month (2026-11-02). Fergus has no Canadian site. The other apps' Canadian prices and card rates are in the tool's Canada view, with what is not published marked as not published.
Reason 7: Jobber is more than a solo needs
Jobber's Core plan is US$49 a month billed monthly (US$29 billed annually) for one user, but it has no QuickBooks sync or GPS. If you need those, Connect for one user is US$139 a month and the solo crew in the table pays US$4,524 a year. For the same solo crew: Fergus US$3,276, ServiceM8 Starter US$3,396, Tradify US$3,612 and GorillaDesk US$4,104.
Leaving Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan instead?
Housecall Pro: it has no single price, so get its price for your team in writing first: the three price views. From Housecall Pro the same table applies (US$7,968, US$8,376 and US$9,312 for the 3-person crew).
ServiceTitan: its pricing page shows three plans and a "request pricing" button on each, no number and no card rate, so there is nothing to compare a posted price against until you ask. Ask it the five questions on the three-way page, then put the answers next to this table.
Who each alternative is not for
- ServiceM8: your monthly job count swings past a plan's limit (7 days' grace, then a forced upgrade).
- Fergus: you are in Canada (no Canadian site), or you need a firm price for a crew: its page says only "from US$31".
- Tradify: you need GPS tracking (its plan pages do not list it) or your first card payout is urgent (7 days, then 2 business days).
- GorillaDesk: your work is not route-based (one-off jobs by trade), or you are in Canada (availability not stated).
- Housecall Pro: you want one firm price: the same plan is priced by team size and by where you read it.
- Jobber itself: you have more than 15 people. Jobber says to contact it for pricing above 15, so you will be asking for a quote whichever app you choose.

Quick answers
What is the cheapest Jobber alternative?
B2B Fees priced six apps on 2026-11-03 for a 3-person crew sending 50 invoices of US$400 a month, all paid by card online. Of those six, ServiceM8 Starter comes out cheapest at US$7,968 a year against US$9,528 on Jobber Connect, card fees included, as long as the crew stays under 50 jobs a month. Fergus is US$8,376, Tradify US$9,312 and Housecall Pro US$9,444 on its public price.
Do the alternatives charge less in card fees?
No. Card rates are close: Jobber 2.9% + 30 cents online, ServiceM8 3.1%, Fergus 2.95%, Tradify 3.1%, Housecall Pro 2.99%, GorillaDesk 2.9% through your own processor. The saving comes from the plan price: ServiceM8's saving of US$1,560 is US$2,040 of software minus US$480 of extra card fees.
Is Housecall Pro cheaper than Jobber?
It depends on which Housecall Pro price you are shown. On its public monthly price a 3-person crew pays US$9,444 against Jobber's US$9,528; on the higher in-app price our trial account showed it is more than Jobber.
Does Jobber have a contract?
Not on the monthly plan: you can cancel and it ends at the period end. A 1-year commitment is billed monthly to the end of the 12-month term, and annual billing is prepaid. Connect for 2 to 5 people is US$199 billed monthly, US$169 on a 1-year commitment and US$149 billed annually.
What we checked ourselves, and what we did not
On 2026-11-02 we opened a trial account at Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceM8, Tradify, Fergus, GorillaDesk and Workiz (no card, nothing bought; how we test) and read the plan screens. On 2026-11-03 we re-read Jobber's public pricing page in a browser, by team size. What we did not do:
- We did not test any app with real data, run a data import, or time a switch.
- We did not connect QuickBooks, run a card payment or open a cancellation screen in any app.
- ServiceTitan and Service Fusion are read from public pages only; Workiz shows prices only inside a trial account, so it is not priced here.
We asked all six apps and ServiceTitan to confirm what we say on 2026-11-03. Jobber and ServiceM8 replied the same day (Jobber points to its pricing page as the source for its prices); the others have not replied yet. We change a number only with a primary source.
