Each row sells one item with the buyer paying a US$6.49 shipping charge that goes straight out to the label, so what is left is the item price less fees. Poshmark’s buyer pays Poshmark’s own flat charge and label.

Where the order changes
The Poshmark line at US$15
Poshmark’s fee jumps from US$2.95 to 20% of the whole price at US$15. A US$14.99 item keeps US$12.04; a US$15.00 item keeps US$12.00, 4 cents less. The keep is back to US$12.04 only at US$15.05.
Shipping decides Mercari against Poshmark
Depop and Mercari put the shipping charge inside the base of their percent; Poshmark’s fee is on the item alone. So a bigger shipping charge raises two fees and not the third: on a US$50 item with US$20 shipping, Depop keeps US$47.24, Mercari US$43.00 and Poshmark US$40.00. Mercari’s fee only passes Poshmark’s once the shipping charge is more than the item price.

A boosted view on Depop
Depop’s boosting fee is 12% of the item, for listings made from March 23, 2026, when a buyer sees a boosted tile and buys within 28 days. At the US$6.49 shipping charge a boosted Depop sale keeps less than Mercari at every price. Against Poshmark it keeps more everywhere except US$14.88 to US$14.95, where the two keep the same, and US$14.96 to US$14.99, where Poshmark keeps one cent more.

Estimate from the rates each app prints for US sellers. Fees round half a cent up, which none of the three states. Depop is modelled with a Depop Shipping label, so its boosting fee is on the item alone.
What each app charges, and on what
- Poshmark
- US$2.95 flat under US$15, 20% from US$15, on “the final order price”. No page we read says whether the buyer’s shipping counts, so we read both against the item price. Supporting observation, not proof: Poshmark’s Texas tax article works a US$100 sale with a US$20 fee, 20% of the item alone; a base with US$6.49 shipping would give US$21.30. The buyer pays a flat US$6.49 and Poshmark supplies the label up to 5 lb.
- Depop
- No selling fee for US sellers. A payment processing fee of 3.3% + US$0.45 on the item, shipping and any taxes, and 12% of the item only on a sale within 28 days of a boosted view.
- Mercari
- 10% of the item price plus the shipping the buyer pays, with no separate payment processing fee and no listing fee, in place since January 6, 2025 for new and updated listings.
Which situation moves which fee
Sale size. Flat amounts bite on a small sale: Poshmark’s US$2.95 is 29.5% of a US$10 item, Depop’s US$0.45 lifts its share to 9.9% and Mercari takes 16.5%. At US$250 the shares are 20%, 3.56% and 10.26%.
Free shipping. Offering it puts the label on you. With a US$6.49 label Depop’s fee falls to US$2.10 and Mercari’s to US$5.00, and they keep US$41.41 and US$38.51, so Mercari then keeps less than Poshmark’s US$40.00. Poshmark’s buyer always pays its flat charge.
Buyer fees. The buyer pays Mercari’s 3.6% Buyer Protection fee and Depop’s Marketplace fee. They change the buyer’s price, not your keep.
What is not in the numbers
- Poshmark’s shipping charge. Its article says US$6.49, while its own help search still previews an older US$8.27. Figures near that elsewhere are stale.
- Label prices. Depop and Mercari price labels by weight and size; we used one charge on all three. Mercari’s table changed on October 19, 2026.
- Payouts. Instant payout costs US$2 on Poshmark and US$3 on Mercari; direct deposit is free on both. Depop prints no withdrawal fee.
- Promotion. Poshmark’s Promoted Closet bills on clicks and prints no price per click. Mercari’s Fees page lists no promotion fee.
- Sales speed and audience. A lower fee on an item that does not sell keeps nothing; how fast each app sells and who shops there is not measured here.

Mercari, at every price we ran when the buyer pays the label, as in the table. On a US$50 item Mercari takes US$5.65 and Poshmark US$10.00. Mercari's fee only passes Poshmark's when the shipping charged is more than the item price: US$50.05 of shipping on a US$50 item.
Mercari vs Depop: which takes less?
Depop, from a US$1.00 item up, on an ordinary sale: US$2.31 against US$5.65 on US$50. After a boosted view the order turns: Depop US$8.31, Mercari US$5.65.

- You sell from TexasPoshmark adds a Texas Seller Fee Tax on 80% of its fee. Poshmark's own example is US$1.32 on a US$100 sale. It is not in the numbers.
